News: DB Best Releases a new version of Database Compare Suite with Sybase IQ support

DB Best announces the release of Database Compare Suite version 4.10 which now includes support for Sybase IQ data warehouses.

Going really big

By introducing support for column-based petabyte-scale relational database software system, Sybase IQ, we increased the number of supported data warehouse platforms to six. The total number of supported database platforms in Database Compare Suite has reached the count of 13. This means that you can compare, synchronize and migrate database objects using 91 different pairs of source and target databases.

The full list of supported database platforms in our ultimate database management tool includes Amazon Redshift, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure SQL Database, Greenplum, IBM DB2, IBM Netezza, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, and Teradata.

Improving performance

Delivering support for an increased number of data warehouse platforms, we constantly improve the performance of specific big data operations. One such operation is a Fast Data Compare option, which allows for lightning fast comparison of big data sets. From now on, in Fast Data Comparison operation settings, you may now opt for treating float point numbers as integers or converting them to exponential format. This allows for leveling the differences of data storage options in various database platforms.

You should also keep in mind that data migrations in a data warehouse environment takes a long time. So, you will need to ensure nobody alters the target table during this operation. The latest release of the Database Compare Suite brings you an option to ‘Lock target table’. When checked, this option blocks the target table from being altered during amigration operation. Please note, that the default value for this option is active.
