DB Best’s Solution Architect Sean Del Prete will deliver an Azure Cosmos DB Hands-On Workshop for Microsoft. The event will take place on January 14, 2019 in the Microsoft Technology Center at San Francisco, CA.
Join Microsoft and DB Best for an exciting Azure Cosmos DB Hands-on Workshop. You can expand your knowledge of Azure and Azure Cosmos DB through an immersive hands-on workshop. We’ll walk you through a real-world scenario, do a whiteboard design session and a hackathon to bring it all together.
In this session, Sean will demonstrate how applications implemented on popular no-SQL platforms like MongoDB and Casandra can be easily moved to Azure Cosmos DB. So, you can import the data to Azure Cosmos DB from your existing no-SQL platform using Azure tools. Your applications will require little to no changes as Cosmos is API compatible with both MongoDB and Casandra.
This session will also highlight Cosmos DB functionality, such as support for Azure Table and Apache Tinkerpop’s graph traversal language ‘Gremlin’. Cosmos is friendly to all developers in Java, .NET, Node, js and Python. Azure Cosmos DB provides support even for Ruby and Go for MongoDB workloads. Also, you can support large and elastically scalable applications with Azure Cosmos DB. You can even integrate them with applications that have a relational SQL focus.
Please note that this workshop content requires a 300-level of architectural expertise of infrastructure and solutions design in this domain (even if on another platform). Also, be sure to check out our Azure Cosmos DB datasheet on modernizing your MongoDB and Cassandra solutions.
